School is over, classes that is, there is still much to do towards thesis finishing.
The weekend of May 14 was a relaxing weekend of no school, thesis, or lab work. Todd, Henry, Scooby and I traveled to the San Juan Island for his brother Steve's wedding. It was a small ceremony, great weather, and much fun especially with the girls: Emma and Sarah.
After the island adventure, we went to Darrington, WA to camp on the river, do a short hike, and relax before heading back to Moscow. Henry had much fun on the trip. slept like a rock every night!
The place we camped at had many balancing cairns along the river. The prior tenants were talented and had much focus. There were over 10 cairns scattered through out the gravel bar, on logs, even over the raging river.

ooh pretty! Also, I always wonder who builds those rock towers? What do they mean!
I would guess from the tarot cards resting on the stream bank, these cairns were built by a bunch of wizards defying gravity, marking the path to another world.
ha ha ha.. nerd..
