June First

Having a kitty is not as necessary to put the fuzzy thing first, unlike a puppy or kid.  However, the kitty sure lets her presence be known.  330am, she tipped Todd's water glass over, the one he keeps near the bed.  At 530am she decided it was time to play and then by 730 she was sleeping comfortably in my spot on the bed as I trudge about half asleep.  Ah, kittens.

The garden is doing well too.  We discovered quail have been eating my starts, so there is now wire fencing over all they young precious shoots.  The weather has warmed considerably and the evenings are only dipping into the mid-50's.  I have planted my cucumber starts along the fence.  They are only pickling cucks so I hope they will trellis okay.  Yesterday I put out two tomato starts, very young ones that are over stock, to see how well they do this week to decide if it is time to put out the larger more healthy ones.  A few of the starts had aphids so I bought some Neem Oil from Zamzows, it is an "organic" method to control the bugs.  So far it has seemed to work.

We have a lot of garden to water. This morning it took me an hour and a half to hand water all of it.  And all the area is not planted yet!  It is going to look so good, lush, and hopefully bountiful.
